Meet Mike Alstott – Record Holder Of Most Touchdowns
With 71 touchdowns, Mike Alstott leads the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in career touchdowns.
Alstott with 71 total touchdowns broke the previous Buccaneer franchise record of 46 career touchdowns set by running back James Wilder on November 26, 2001, when he scored his 47th career touchdown. Until November 22, 2021, when wide receiver Mike Evans scored his 72nd touchdown as a Buccaneer, Alstott was the Buccaneers’ all-time top scorer.
Michael Joseph Alstott is a retired American fullback who spent 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the National Football League. He was dubbed “A-Train” during his college football career at Purdue and was drafted in the second round of the 1996 NFL Draft by the Buccaneers.
Nicole Alstott is Alstott’s wife. The pair are the parents of three children. After consuming the 2017 season at Purdue, his son Griffin is now the backup quarterback at Western Michigan University.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected Alstott in the second round (35th overall). Alstott was largely used by the Buccaneers as a running fullback, rather than the blocking fullbacks that were becoming popular at the time.
He played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII (2002), which was held at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California. Alstott rushed for 15 yards and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ first Super Bowl touchdown. He also had five receptions for 43 yards.
