Barry Rubin is the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He was born on June 25, 1957, in Monroe, Louisiana.

He is a member of the Hall of Fame for Strength and Conditioning Coaches in the United States.

Rubin lettered three years in football (earning all-district honors as a running back and punter), baseball, and basketball, as well as twice in track and field.

Rubin joined the LSU Tigers football team in 1976 as a running back and punter.

He transferred to Northwestern State University after the 1977 season, where he was a punter and tight end, and obtained his B.A. in 1981.

He played with future NFL stars Bobby Hebert, Mark Duper, Joe Delaney, and Gary Reasons while there. He was chosen to the Jewish All-American team in 1979 after setting a school record with a 75-yard punt.

Rubin started coaching at Northeast Louisiana University in 1981 as a graduate assistant. The next year, he took over as Assistant Strength Coach.

He was promoted to Strength Coach in 1984 and stayed there until 1985. Rubin went back to Northeast Louisiana University in 1994 after working as the Strength Coach at LSU from 1987 to 1990.
