Corey Matthaei is an American football coach who works in the National Football League (NFL). He has worked with the Kansas City Chiefs since 2018 as their assistant offensive line coach.

Before he took the position with the Chiefs, he was said to have workedin three prior positions with the Philadelphia Eagles. After three seasons as an assistant quarterbacks coach, he took on the role of head quarterbacks coach.

As the quality control coach for the Chiefs, he began his tenure with the team in 2013. Matthaei was an offensive lineman for Willamette University in Salem, Oregon from (2003-06) before he began his NFL career.

The 65.1 completion percentage Alex Smith has achieved since Matthaei’s debut in Kansas City ranks first among all Chiefs quarterbacks with at least 700 throwing attempts.

In his first year as the assistant offensive line coach, he helped lead a group that blocked for NFL MVP QB Patrick Mahomes. The offensive line only allowed 26.0 sacks in the regular season and paved the way for 1,855 yards rushing as a team.

Corey Matthaei is said to be married to his beautiful wife Cari with whom they have got three beautiful children known as Taylor, Brayden and Kacey Matthaei.
