Puerto Rican professional baseballer Charlie Montoyo is currently known as the manager of the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. Montoyo after his playing days became a manager for the Toronto Blue Jays on October 25, 2018, replacing John Gibbons.

He was a contender for the 2015 management position search and ended up as a third-base coach with the Tampa Bay Rays as part of his coaching career. Then, in October 2018, he took over as the team’s new manager, succeeding John Gibbons.

During his playing days, he was a right-handed batter, according to reports. At Louisiana Tech University, he was a baseball player. In 1987, he was taken in the sixth round of the draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.

On January 20, 1993, he was dealt with in Montreal. He batted in a total of 1,028 minor league games during his minor league career. 266 hits, 38 home runs, and 400 runs batted in.
