Charlie Montoyo whose real name is José Carlos Montoyo Diaz is a Puerto Rican retired baseball professional who is currently the manager of the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball. Charlie Montoyo was born on October 17, 1965, in Florida Puerto Rico.

As part of his coaching career, he was a candidate in the 2015 managerial position search where he ended up as a third base coach for the Tampa Bay Rays. Then in October 2018, he became the team’s new manager taking the place of John Gibbons.

His playing career says he was a right-handed batter during his playing days. He played college baseball at Louisiana Tech University. He was selected through the draft by the Milwaukee Brewers in the year 1987 during the sixth-round selection.
