About Johnathan Willis
Jordan Johnathan Willis plays defensive end for the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers. He was picked by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft after playing college football at Kansas State. He played for the New York Jets as well.
Willis went to Kansas City, Missouri’s Rockhurst High School. As a senior, he had 58 tackles and nine sacks, and as a junior, he had 60 tackles and 13 sacks. As a senior, Willis also served as president of the student body. He is committed to playing college football at Kansas State University.

College Career
Willis started nine games and had one sack as a true freshman at Kansas State in 2013. He started all 13 games as a sophomore in 2014, recording 26 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Willis started all 13 games as a junior in 2015, compiling 36 tackles and 9.5 sacks in the process. After compiling 52 tackles and 11.5 sacks as a senior, he was voted Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.
Professional Career
Willis was selected 73rd overall in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. Willis was released by the Bengals on September 10, 2019. The New York Jets later claimed Willis off waivers on September 11, 2019.
Willis was dealt with by the San Francisco 49ers on October 27, 2020, in exchange for a 2022 sixth-round pick. In addition, the Jets sent the 49ers their seventh-round pick in 2021. On November 23, 2020, the team placed Willis on injured reserve/COVID-19 and activated him on December 2. Willis was assigned to the injured reserve on January 1, 2021. He had a career-high 2.5 sacks during the season.
