Cornelius Leonard Floyd was born on September 8, 1992, and currently plays for the National Football League’s Los Angeles Rams (NFL). He attended Georgia University before being taken in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears.
Floyd was a student at Dodge County High School in Eastman, Georgia, where he participated in football and track. He was a defensive end and a tight end in football. Floyd signed with the University of Georgia in April 2011 to play college football.
Following high school, he spent a year at Hargrave Military Academy, where he took NCAA-required classes.
Floyd excelled as a thrower in track and field. At the 2011 Region 3AA Meet, he won the shot put event with a career-best throw of 14.96 meters.
Floyd was invited to the NFL combine as a high-profile draft candidate in the impending 2016 NFL Draft. He participated in the combine and completed the majority of the drills until hurting his hamstring during the 40-yard dash.
Due to his injury, he chose not to undertake the bench press and was unable to perform the three-cone drill or short shuttle. Jordan Jenkins, a teammate, and fellow linebacker, also strained his hamstring and was unable to perform the short shuttle and three-cone drill.
