Lou Anarumo is a defensive coordinator with the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League, and he was born on August 18, 1966.

From 2004 to 2011, he was the defensive backs coach for the Purdue Boilermakers under Joe Tiller and Danny Hope, then the Miami Dolphins from 2012 to 2017, and finally the New York Giants in 2018.

Anarumo was born in the year 1966 on Staten Island, New York. He received his bachelor’s degree in special education from Wagner College. He was the Junior Varsity head coach at Susan E. Wagner High School in Staten Island while at Wagner.

In the spring of 1990, Lou Anarumo worked as a part-time running backs coach at Wagner before moving to the United States Merchant Marine Academy in the fall of 1990 to do the same.

Anarumo then transferred to Syracuse University, where he worked as a graduate assistant with the defensive backs under Phil Elmassian.

Anarumo subsequently went back to the Merchant Marines as the defensive coordinator before being appointed as an associate head coach and defensive backs coach at Harvard.

Anarumo met old boss Joe Philbin, who was at the time the offensive line coach at Harvard.

After a brief stint at Marshall, Anarumo was hired to replace Elmassian at Purdue, where he remained until being hired by the Miami Dolphins in 2012.
