After playing with the DSL Yankees 1, he was promoted to the Charleston RiverDogs of the Class A South Atlantic League in 2013.
In ten games, he went 4-2 with a 2.45 ERA and 53 strikeouts in 44 innings pitched (eight starts). In Charleston, he hit 97 mph with his fastball (156 kilometers per hour).
