Sam Adolphus Madison, Jr. is an American football coach and former cornerback who was born on April 23, 1974. For the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League, he is the cornerback’s coach and pass game expert (NFL).
He previously worked for the Kansas City Chiefs as their secondary/cornerbacks coach.
He was picked by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft after playing collegiate football at the University of Louisville.
Madison was also a member of the New York Giants and was a four-time Pro Bowler. As a player for the Giants, he won Super Bowl XLII, and as an assistant coach for the Chiefs, he won Super Bowl LIV.
Madison played wide receiver and defensive back for Florida A&M University’s Developmental Research School. He lettered in basketball, baseball, and track & field in addition to football.
Madison attended the University of Louisville and played college football. With 16 interceptions and 44 pass denials, Madison was a three-year starter for the Cardinals.
He was a third-team All-American as a junior after making 65 tackles, two sacks, 13 interceptions, and 13 pass deflections.
At the conclusion of his senior season, he had 52 tackles, two sacks, six interceptions, and 16 passes defended, good enough for second team All-America and first team All-Conference USA honors.
