The Following players made a tremendous mark last year 2021 by firing the team some privileged advantages that did in one way or the other boost the team’s winning run.
Alex Collins
Collins has had an unusual career and most likely deserves more playing time in the NFL. However, after filling in for Carson in Week 6 last season, he led the Seahawks in rushing yards. Collins has also averaged 4.1 yards per rush, just below Carson’s 4.3. To be honest, a lot of his yardage has come as a result of bad blocking.
Quandre Diggs
Last season, Diggs had three interceptions and now has 12 in 29 games with the Seahawks. That’s a little insane to consider, considering Diggs has been chastised in Seattle on several occasions.
He was the Seahawks’ best and most reliable secondary player last season. In addition, he is the team’s fourth-leading tackler.
Russell Wilson
Last season, Wilson had a fantastic statistical season. He has 10 touchdown touchdowns and only one interception on 72 percent of his passes.
(For those of Geno Smith’s detractors, it’s worth noting that in 35 fewer throw attempts, Smith has completed 68.4 percent of his passes and has 5 touchdown passes and only 1 interception.)
Darrell Taylor
With a team-high eight quarterback hits, Darrell Taylor has been by far Seattle’s greatest edge rusher. Taylor also leads the team in sacks with four (the next closest player is Rasheem Green with two) and tackles-for-loss with three, tied with Jordyn Brooks.
Tyler Lockett
Lockett had 579 receiving yards last season, but his targets fluctuated from 4.8 in five games. Lockett used to be in desperate need of the ball, and when one is thrown his way, he catches it. This season, he has no drops and catches the ball on 70.7 percent of his targets.
DK Metcalf
DK Metcalf had the second-longest reception in the NFL last year season, with an 84-yard reception against the Saints in Seattle’s second drive. Then it seemed as if Seattle had forgotten about Metcalf.
