Stephen Christopher Spagnuolo (born December 21, 1959) is an American football coach who works as the defensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League.
He returned to Andy Reid after serving as a defensive assistant for him from 1999 to 2006. Spagnuolo has won two Super Bowls as a defensive coordinator, one with the New York Giants and the other with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Spagnuolo holds the distinction of being the only offensive or defensive coordinator to win a Super Bowl with two different clubs in NFL history.
He served three seasons as the head coach of the St. Louis Rams after two seasons with the Giants, then worked as an assistant with the Baltimore Ravens, a one-season tenure with the New Orleans Saints, and then returned to the Giants as defensive coordinator in 2015.
On December 4, 2017, he was named interim head coach after the former head coach, Ben McAdoo, was dismissed.
In college football, Spagnuolo has worked as an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut, University of Maine, Lafayette College, Rutgers University, Bowling Green University, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
