Cam Newton
Cameron Jerrell Newton is an American football quarterback who plays for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers. He’s known as “Super Cam” for being the NFL’s all-time leader in running touchdowns by quarterbacks.
Newton made an immediate impact in his debut season, setting rookie records for passing and rushing yards and winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award. He set the season record for quarterback rushing touchdowns and was the league’s first rookie quarterback to throw for 4,000 yards in a season. He was also the first to throw for 400 yards in his NFL debut.
Matt Cassel
Cassel started his career as Tom Brady’s backup until Brady’s season was cut short in the first game of 2008. He led the Patriots to an 11–5 record in his one season as their starter, although they did not make the playoffs.
Jacoby Brissett
In a 27–0 victory over the Houston Texans, Brissett made his first career start, completing 11-of-19 passes for 103 yards and running the ball eight times for 48 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown run. He was the Patriots’ first African-American quarterback to start a game.
