The Houston Texans are an American football club headquartered in Houston that competes in the National Football League. The Houston Texans are a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) South division of the National Football League (NFL). They play their home games at NRG Stadium, which serves as their home field.
They were created in 1999 and owned by Bob McNair until his death in 2018; upon McNair’s death, the Texans were sold to his wife, Janice, who now owns the franchise in its entirety.
They took over for the city’s former NFL club, which had been in existence since 1960 but had since relocated to Nashville, where they became the Tennessee Titans in 1997. It was as an expansion club that the Texans first competed in 2002, making them the NFL’s youngest franchise presently participating in the league.
The Houston Texans 2005 Season had the worst team and worst season. After four seasons in the National Football League, the 2005 Houston Texans season was their final under head coach Dom Capers. This was the poorest season in Texans history, with a record of 1-14. (a record that would later be matched in 2013). It was after the season that the team parted ways with head coach Dom Capers; he was replaced by Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak.
The poor Houston defense surrendered a league-high 431 points in the team’s 260-point win. The Texans’ Domanick Davis rushed for a team-leading 976 yards. David Carr passed for a total of 2,488 yards. ‘ Andre Johnson had the most receptions, 63, with 688 yards. Jabar Gaffney also offered assistance in the form of receiving it.
A total of two of his opponents’ passes were intercepted by Glenn Earl. Shantee Orr intercepted seven passes from opposition players.
