On August 28, 2014, Sorensen had five combined tackles and a pass deflection in a 34–14 preseason loss to the Green Bay Packers. A pass deflection and nine tackles (seven solos) in four preseason games. To start the season, Andy Reid made Sorensen the backup strong safety to Eric Berry.
