Jarran Kentrel Reed (born December 16, 1992) is a defensive tackle in the National Football League for the Kansas City Chiefs. He was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks after playing college football at Alabama.
Reed graduated in 2011 from Goldsboro High School in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Reed was compelled to attend Hargrave Military Academy for a year after graduating high school due to bad academics.
In 2012 and 2013, Reed attended East Mississippi Community College.
During the 2013 season, Reed helped his team win the NJCAA national championship. In Reed’s stint with East Mississippi Community College, he was credited with 100 career stops, including 10.5 tackles for loss. Reed transferred to the University of Alabama in 2014.
He started 13 games and appeared in all 14 during his freshman season at Alabama. He had 55 tackles and one sack on the season. Reed explored entering the NFL Draft in 2015, but ultimately opted against it and returned to Alabama for his final year.
Reed started all 15 games as a senior and helped his team win the CFP national championship. During his senior year, he had 57 tackles and one sack.
