Jody Fortson is an American football tight end for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs. He transferred from Erie Community Collegiate and played college football for Valdosta State University before being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Chiefs in 2019. Fortson was selected to play in the College Gridiron Showcase and the Tropical Bowl despite missing his senior season at Valdosta State due to injuries. The Blazers went on to win the Division II National Championship.

On May 13, 2019 as an undrafted free agent, Fortson signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. On August 31, 2019, he was waived and immediately added to the practice squad. Fortson stayed on the practice squad for the remainder of the season and as the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LIV. On February 5, 2020, he re-signed with the Chiefs. On September 5, 2020, he was declared ineligible. The following day, he signed with the practice squad.

He made his NFL debut in Week 2 of the 2021 season against the Baltimore Ravens. The following week, against the Los Angeles Chargers, he would record his first career NFL touchdown reception.
