Lou Anarumoin his over 30 years of coaching career has been a coach to College Football teams and NFL teams. In his coaching career, he has coached Wagner (1989) as Running backs coach, Syracuse (1990–1991) as Graduate assistant defensive backs coach,
U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (1992–1994) as Defensive coordinator/defensive backs, Harvard (1995–2000) as Assistant head coach/defensive backs/special teams.
Marshall (2001–2003) as Defensive backs coach, Purdue (2004–2011) as Defensive backs coach, Miami Dolphins (2012–2017) as Defensive backs coach

Lou Anarumo Career History As A Coach
In the spring of 1990, Anarumo worked as a part-time running backs coach at Wagner before moving to the United States Merchant Marine Academy in the fall of 1990 to do the same.
Anarumo then transferred to Syracuse University, where he worked as a graduate assistant with the defensive backs under Phil Elmassian.
Anarumo subsequently went back to the Merchant Marines as the defensive coordinator before being appointed as an associate head coach and defensive backs coach at Harvard.
Anarumo met old boss Joe Philbin, who was at the time the offensive line coach at Harvard.
After a brief stint at Marshall, Anarumo was hired to replace Elmassian at Purdue, where he remained until being hired by the Miami Dolphins in 2012.
On October 8, 2015, he was named the Miami Dolphins’ temporary defensive coordinator, succeeding Kevin Coyle, who was fired the same day.
Following coaching changes following the 2015–16 season, he was reassigned to the defensive backs coach position under Adam Gase, who is now the head coach for the 2016–17 season.
The New York Giants hired Anarumo as their defensive backs coach on January 25, 2018.
On February 21, 2019, the Cincinnati Bengals hired Anarumo as their defensive coordinator.
Due to Jackson’s absence for COVID-19 pandemic protocols, he took Steve Jackson’s cornerbacks coaching duties for the team’s weeks 11 and 12 games in 2020 against the Washington Football Team and the New York Giants.
Anarumo’s defense kept the Kansas City Chiefs to just a field goal in the second half of the 2021-22 AFC Championship Game and forced an interception in overtime, leading to a 27-24 OT victory and a trip to Super Bowl LVI.
