Stephen Christopher Spagnuolo (born December 21, 1959) is a defensive coordinator for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League.
He returned to Andy Reid after serving as his defensive assistant from 1999 to 2006. Spagnuolo has two Super Bowl rings as a defensive coordinator, one with the New York Giants and the other with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Spagnuolo is the first offensive or defensive coordinator in NFL history to win two Super Bowls with two different clubs.
He spent three seasons as the head coach of the St. Louis Rams after two seasons with the Giants, then worked as an assistant coach with the Baltimore Ravens, a one-season tenure with the New Orleans Saints, and then returned to the Giants as defensive coordinator in 2015.
He was hired interim head coach after the former head coach, Ben McAdoo, was dismissed on December 4, 2017.
In college football, Spagnuolo has worked as an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut, University of Maine, Lafayette College, Rutgers University, Bowling Green University, and the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
