Darryl Anthony Tapp (born September 13, 1984) is a retired American football defensive end and outside linebacker who played for the National Football League for twelve seasons.

He is currently with the San Francisco 49ers as an assistant defensive line coach. He was picked in the second round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks after playing collegiate football at Virginia Tech.

Tapp has spent time with the Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Redskins, Detroit Lions, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, among others.

Tapp has been friends with former cornerback DeAngelo Hall since they were children, the two had attended the same school from elementary school through college and had been teammates during their time together.

Their professional careers would bring them back together once more when they both played for the Washington Redskins in the same season in 2013.

Tapp Darryl was released by the Buccaneers on November 28, 2017, and has not played in the NLF since. He then resigned and joined the Virginia Tech coaching staff as the Co-Defensive Line Coach.

Tapp returned to Virginia Tech on December 13, 2019, to take over as the Co-Defensive Line Coach for the Hokies.

Tapp became an assistant defensive line coach for the San Francisco 49ers on February 11, 2021, under the direction of head coach Kyle Shanahan.
