Kevin William O’Connell is an American football coach who works as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League.

Kevin O’Connell retired from playing professional football in 2012. He last was a San Diego Chargers player before he retired.
Before retiring, he played for six NFL teams. He played for New England Patriots (2008) Detroit Lions (2009) New York Jets (2009–2010) Miami Dolphins (2011) New York Jets (2011) and San Diego Chargers (2012).
Since becoming a coach in 2015, O’Connell has worked as an assistant coach for the Cleveland Browns, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Washington Redskins, among other teams. In his current position, O’Connell has been hired as offensive coordinator by the Los Angeles Rams.
O’Connell received a bachelor’s degree in political science from San Diego State University in December 2007. At SDSU, where he was a four-year team captain, he started 21 games, which was the sixth-highest total among SDSU quarterbacks.
He finished his career ranked first in school history in career rushing yards and second in career rushing touchdowns among quarterbacks; in 2007, he was the team’s leading rusher in terms of yards gained. When it came to passing, he was ninth in yardage, eighth in attempts, and seventh in completions.
