Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, was the husband of Queen Elizabeth II and was born Prince Philip of Greece and Denmark on June 10, 1921, and died on April 9, 2021.

He served as Queen Elizabeth II’s consort from 1952 until his death in 2021, making him the longest-serving royal consort in history. During WWII, he distinguished himself as a member of the British Mediterranean and Pacific fleets.

When Philip Mountbatten-Windsor married Elizabeth II in 1947, he was given the titles of Duke of Edinburgh, Earl of Merioneth, and Baron Greenwich.
