Since 2020, Brian Fleury has served as the offensive quality control coach for the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL). He began his career with the 49ers in 2019 as the team’s defensive quality control coach.
He joined the 49ers following three years with the Miami Dolphins, where he served as the team’s football research associate (2016) and sporting director research (2017-18). Brian was born on January 22, 1980, in Germantown.
Fleury started his high school career at Maryland before moving to Towson University, where he ended up playing quarterback for 4 years (1999-2002) and got a bachelor’s degree in sports management in 2002.
Nadia, his daughter with his wife Natasha, is their only child. From 2003 to 2004, Fleury worked as an intern and graduate assistant at the University of Maryland. In 2003, the Terrapins went 10-3, won the Gator Bowl, and were ranked 17th in the nation at the end of the season.
Before joining the Browns, Fleury worked with the Buffalo Bills’ linebackers as a quality control coach during the 2013 season.
He aided the development of rookie LB Kiko Alonso, who was voted PFWA NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year after recording 159 tackles, four interceptions, 2.0 sacks, four passes defended two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble. With 57 sacks, the Bills set a franchise record and finished second in the NFL in 2013.
