Blake Lively was born Brown because her father’s real name is Ernest Wilson Brown, a name he later changed to  Ernie Lively as a stage name. Brown is their family name.

Blake Ellender Brown was born on August 25, 1987, in Los Angeles’ Tarzana neighborhood. Elaine McAlpin, her mother, was a talent scout, and Ernie Lively (né Ernest Wilson Brown Jr), her father, was an actor.

Her grandmother’s brother, Blake, inspired her name. Lori, Robyn, and Jason are her mother’s half-siblings from a previous marriage. All of her siblings and parents have worked in the entertainment industry.

Because her parents didn’t want to leave her with a babysitter, Lively attended her parents to their acting courses as a youngster.

As she grew older and began working in the profession, she claimed that witnessing her parents teach helped her master the “drills” and build confidence.

At the age of ten, she made her acting debut in Lively’s father’s 1998 film Sandman. “It’s a bit part,” she says of her role. She didn’t want to be an actress at first and instead planned to go to Stanford University.

She was a cheerleader, a member of the championship choir, and the class president at Burbank High School in Burbank, California. During the summer, her older brother requested that his agency send her on a few auditions.

She was then cast as Bridget in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (2005), and her sequences were shot between her junior and senior years of high school.
