Texas Rangers are an American professional baseball team based in Arlington, Texas. The team was established in 1961 and during this period they were known as Washington(D. C) Senators. They performed poorly during the early years of the team’s formation, but the story changed after 1968 when they hired all-time great Ted Williams to be their manager.

This victory of theirs was not long-lived till 1971 when the team became financially due to the low attendance of spectators as a result of their poor performance during games and then relocated the team’s franchise to Arlington, Texas.

When the team relocated to Texas they renamed in honor of the state’s renowned military-cum-police force the Texas Rangers.
