Who is the Bengals offensive coordinator?
Brian Callahan is the Offensive Coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals. He has held this position since 2019.
Callahan, who has spent the last three seasons as the Bengals’ offensive coordinator, has 12 years of NFL experience.
Despite the loss of several important players due to injury, he helped lead the Bengals offense to substantial improvement in 2019.
From the first half of the season (59.5 yards per game) to the second half of the season (70.6 yards per game), Cincinnati’s running average increased by 70.6 yards per game (130.1).
In the passing game, the Bengals’ top four wide receivers — Tyler Boyd, Alex Erickson, Auden Tate, and John Ross III — all set career highs in receptions and yards.
From 2019 through 2020, the Bengals gradually improved their scoring offense before breaking out in 2021 under his leadership.
The Bengals had the league’s seventh-best scoring offense and passing offense this season, thanks to former first-round selection Joe Burrow.
Callahan formerly served as the quarterbacks coach at Detroit (2016-17) and Oakland (2018).
From 2010 through 2015, he worked with the Broncos in a variety of capacities, including as a coaching assistant, offensive quality control coach, and offensive assistant.
Callahan has worked with some of the league’s best quarterbacks during his previous three stops, including Derek Carr, Matthew Stafford, and Brandon Burrow.
