How Many Years Of Experience Does Dan Pitcher Have In Coaching?

Dan Pitcher has over six years of experience in his coaching career. Pitcher began his post-playing career in 2012, coaching wide receivers at Cortland State, a state university in New York.

This season marks Dan Pitcher’s 10th season in the NFL overall and his sixth with the Bengals as an assistant coach, is widely regarded as one of the team’s brightest young offensive thinkers.

After being elevated from assistant quarterbacks coach prior to the 2020 season, he’ll be returning as quarterbacks coach this year.

Pitcher assisted rookie quarterback Joe Burrow, the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, in transitioning to the pro level despite the absence of an in-person offseason program due to the COVID-19 pandemic last season.

Before a knee injury interrupted Burrow’s season after 10 games, Pitcher led him to one of the most prolific beginnings to a career by a quarterback in NFL history.

Burrow’s 264 completions were the most by an NFL quarterback in their first ten games, while his 404 throw attempts and 2688 passing yards were second and fifth, respectively.

In 2020, Pitcher assisted three different Bengals starting quarterbacks  Burrow, Brandon Allen, and Ryan Finley to victories, marking only the second time in team history that three different QBs have won (1984).
