Dan Pitcher is an American football coach who is the quarterbacks coach for the Cincinnati Bengals of the National Football League. He was born on January 13, 1987 in Cortland, New York.
Pitcher attended Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, where he was a quarterback. He spent three years with the Raiders, missing one due to injury and redshirting the other.
From 2009 to 2011, he attended SUNY Cortland, his local college. He was a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy, the Division III equivalent of the Heisman Trophy, during his senior season.
In 2012, he joined the Red Dragons coaching staff as the wide receivers coach after his playing career at SUNY Cortland ended.
He was a scouting assistant for the Indianapolis Colts after one season at SUNY Cortland. In 2014, the Colts upgraded him to a pro scout.
Pitcher was signed as an offensive assistant by the Bengals in 2016, where he worked with wide outs. In 2018, he was elevated to assistant quarterbacks coach and game management specialist by newly appointed head coach Zac Taylor.
The pitcher was elevated to quarterbacks coach for the 2020 season following the departure of Alex Van Pelt.
