The Angels of Anaheim are an American professional baseball team headquartered in Los Angeles, California. The Angels are a part of the American League West division in Major League Baseball.

Anaheim Stadium, formerly known as Anaheim Stadium and subsequently Edison International Field of Anaheim, is a baseball stadium in Anaheim, California. It has been the official ballpark of the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB) since 1966, and from 1980 to 1994, it was also the home stadium of the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League (NFL).

The Big A, named by Herald Examiner Sports Writer Bud Furillo, is an unofficial nickname for the stadium. It is the 4th active Major League Baseball stadium, trailing Fenway Park, Wrigley Field, and Dodger Stadium, as well as the American League’s foremost. It was the site of the Major League Baseball All-Star Games in 1967, 1989, and 2010.

Katella Road to the north, the Orange Highway to the east, Orangewood Lane to the south, and State College Boulevard to the west define the boundaries of Angel Stadium and its associated parking garage.

It was a 230-foot-tall, $1 million A-frame scoreboard with a big halo, not your typical square or rectangular scoreboard. The scoreboard at Anaheim Stadium earned it the nickname “Big A.” Anaheim Stadium’s original lengths were 333 feet (left), 404 feet (right).
