Khalen Saunders is an American football defensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He was born on August 9, 1996. (NFL). He was a high school and collegiate football player for Parkway Central High School in Parkway, Illinois.
Saunders only had one Division 1 scholarship offer, from Western Illinois, after fiddling high school football as a running back and defensive lineman at Parkway Central High School.
Saunders primarily played defensive line at WIU, but he also saw action on the offensive side of the ball on occasion, scoring one running score and one receiving touchdown.
He was the only Leatherneck ever to be invited to the Senior Bowl after his senior season, and while participating in the game, he produced the game’s first sack on Will Grier, drawing praise from Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden.
Saunders attended Parkway Central High School in suburban St. Louis, which is barely four hours away from Arrowhead Stadium.
While in high school, he lettered in football, wrestling, and track & field, winning all-state honors as a lineman in football — but that’s not the whole tale. Saunders, in fact, did a little bit of everything.
