Meet Perry Minasian
Perry Minasian general manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball.
Perry Minasian, a baseball executive from the United States, was born in 1980. He previously worked for the Toronto Blue Jays and Atlanta Braves as a scout and assistant general manager. Originally from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Minasian began his baseball career at the age of eight as a batboy for the Texas Rangers. Zack, his father, was also an assistant clubhouse manager for the team. While attending Lamar High School and the University of Texas at Arlington, Minasian also played baseball.
Perry Minasian Career with Texas Rangers
When he joined the Rangers in 1996, Minasian was working as a clubhouse attendant. He joined the Texas Rangers in 2003 as a scout. Later, he would work as Buck Showalter’s personal assistant.
Perry Minasian Career with Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays hired Minasian as a scout in 2009. He served as director of professional scouting for six of the nine seasons he worked in Toronto. The Blue Jays made back-to-back appearances in the American League Championship Series during his final two seasons with the organization.
Perry Minasian Career with Atlanta Braves
In September of 2017, Minasian was recruited by the Atlanta Braves after leaving the Blue Jays. Under Alex Anthopoulos, he worked as an assistant general manager and then as vice president of baseball operations himself. Minasian has previously worked with Anthopoulos in Toronto. In each of Minasian’s three seasons with the Braves, the team won the National League East and advanced to the National League Championship Series in October of that year.
Perry Minasian Career with Los Angeles Angels(Current)
Minasian was named general manager of the Los Angeles Angels in November 2020, following Billy Eppler’s dismissal. He agreed to a four-year deal.
