Shane Buechele is an American football quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Texas before transferring to SMU – SMU Mustangs football program is a college football team representing Southern Methodist University (SMU) in University Park in Dallas County, Texas.

Buechele went to Lamar High School in Arlington, Texas, where he was a star in both football and baseball. During his profession as a quarterback, he passed for 6,379 yards with 73 scores and scrambled for 1,805 yards and 21 scores.

Shane’s father, Steve Buechele is an American former Major League Baseball third baseman, coach, and current front office executive for the Texas Rangers. Buechele was a major league baseball pitcher who enjoyed his entire career with the Texas Rangers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs. Subsequent to being granted the Tom Grieve Minor League Player of the Year in 1985, he was endorsed by the New York Rangers.
