On March 9, 1973, Aaron John Boone was born. He is the manager of the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball. He is an American baseball manager and former infielder (MLB). From 1997 through 2009, he spent 13 seasons in Major League Baseball.

As a player, Boone is most known for his All-Star season with the Yankees in 2003, when he blasted the game-winning walk-off home run in the American League Championship Series.

From 2010 through 2017, Boone worked as a commentator for ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball and Baseball Tonight after his playing career ended. He took over as manager of the Yankees in 2018, and in his first two seasons, he led the team to two 100-win seasons.

In Villa Park, California, Boone attended Villa Park High School. In his final year, he batted 423 with 22 stolen bases for the baseball team and was named the Century League’s co-player of the year.

On the third day of the 1991 MLB draft, the California Angels selected Boone, but he had no intention of signing a professional contract. He played college baseball for the USC Trojans at the University of Southern California (USC). He won the Cape Cod Baseball League’s title in 1993 while playing collegiate summer baseball for the Orleans Cardinals.
