The San Francisco 49ers are an American football professional team headquartered in the Bay Area. The 49ers are a member of the National Football League’s National Football Conference West division and call Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, home.

Here is a list of 5 of San Francisco 49ers Best Place Kickers in History

1. Tommy Davis

The 49ers selected Davis in the first round, and he played his whole NFL career with them. He’s now the team’s second-leading kicker, but he’s also the team’s all-time leading punter. While he ranks second in terms of made field goals, his overall field goal percentage was only 47%. Ouch.

Only two extra points were missed over his whole career, making him the second-highest XP percentage of any player in the history of the sport.

2. Mike Cofer

During his time with the 49ers, Cofer kicked for back-to-back championship teams in 1988 and 1989, and was selected to the Pro Bowl in both of those years. He is the third-best kicker in NFL history with 128 made field goals, although his 67 percent success rate ranks him 99th overall.

3. Joe Nedney

Nedney has been a 49er for four seasons and has a contract extension. With 101 made fields, he moved up to 4th all-time, and he’s still only 2 percentage points behind Jeff Wilkins in FG percentage (who was only 42-47).

Nedney, on the other hand, is the all-time leader in field goal percentage with more than 100 tries. Nedney could exceed Ray Wersching’s record for most field goals made by the 49ers towards the end of his career.

4. Ray Wersching

Wersching completed 11 seasons with the 49ers and presently holds the record for most field goals and extra points made in the team’s history. The 1981 and 1984 Super Bowl victories were also kicked by Wersching.

5. Tom Wittum

He punted 228 times, averaging 40.39 yards per punt, for a total of 9,210 yards, which ranks third, fourth, and third in the Huskie record book as of January 2010. With 78 punts and 3,129 yards, he still retains the record for the most single-season punting totals.
