Scott Daniel Servais is the manager of the Seattle Mariners, a professional baseball team he used to play for.
In addition to his eleven years as a professional baseball catcher, Servais has held the positions of both assistant general manager and director of player development with the Los Angeles Angels and Texas Rangers, respectively. He was a member of the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, and Colorado Rockies during his time in the National League.
After playing high school baseball for the Westby Norsemen in his hometown of Coon Valley, Wisconsin, Servais was taken by the New York Mets in the second round of the amateur draft in 1985 but did not sign an agreement to play in the major leagues with them.
Played collegiate baseball for the Creighton Bluejays of Nebraska at Creighton University, where he was a student athlete. When he was a college student, he participated in the Cape Cod Baseball League with the Orleans Cardinals. It wasn’t long until the Houston Astros selected Servais after his junior season in 1988 as an amateur draft pick in the third round.
Baseball World Cup was renamed the Amateur World Series in 1986 when Servais played for the US national team in the final Amateur World Series competition. After the Amateur World Series, he competed in the 1987 Pan American Games, where they won the silver medal and the 1987 Intercontinental Cup, respectively.
