Wes Phillips, an American football coach, and former player is currently the pass game coordinator and tight ends coach for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. He was born on February 17, 1979. (NFL).
He is the son of Wade Phillips, the former head coach of the Denver Broncos, Buffalo Bills, and Dallas Cowboys, and the grandson of Bum Phillips, the former head coach of the Houston Oilers and New Orleans Saints.
Phillips returned to UTEP after his playing career to work as a student assistant for one season. He joined West Texas A&M University as the quarterback’s coach in 2004.
With NCAA Division II’s top-ranked passing offense, the Buffaloes went 10-2 in 2005 and won the Lone Star Conference with an 8–1 record. Phillips assisted quarterback Dalton Bell, who was a Harlon Hill Trophy finalist, in his growth. Phillips was hired at Baylor for the same role in 2006 after two seasons.
