Javon Alexander Mack is also known as Alex Mack is an American football center for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League. He played college football for the University of California. He was born on November 19, 1985, in Los Angeles, California.
He is currently 6ft 4 in and weighs 311 lb. He schooled San Marcos High School in Santa Barbara, where he was named the Channel League’s Co-Most Valuable Player on defense and earned a first-team all-league selection.
Mack attended the University of California, Berkeley, and played for the California Golden Bears football team. He made 39 consecutive starts for the Golden Bears registering 256 key knockdowns, 32 touchdown resulting blocks, and 29 downfield blocks.
He won the Draddy Trophy, also dubbed the “academic Heisman” for this academic success in 2008, becoming the first Cal player and second consecutive center to earn the trophy.
In 2009 NFL Draft, Alex was projected as a first-to-second rounder by Sports Illustrated and was the highest-ranked center available in the 2009 NFL Draft. He was first Drafted by Cleveland Brown with the 21st overall selection.
He signed a five-year contract with the Browns on July 25. He later moved to Atlanta Falcons on March 9, 2016, on a Five-year signing,$45 million contract including $28.5 million guaranteed money.
On March 18, 2021, Mack finally signed a three-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers and he’s currently playing the center Position for San Francisco 49ers.
