Jerick Deshun McKinnon, sometimes known as Jet, is a running back for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs. He attended Georgia Southern University and was taken in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings in 2014. He was also a San Francisco 49ers player.
At Sprayberry High School in Marietta, Georgia, McKinnon played football and competed in the high school track and field team. He was a quarterback, a running back, and a wide receiver on the football team.
When it came to the quarterback, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution selected him to the top of the list for the state of Georgia. The Georgia Sports Writers Association recognized him as a first-team all-state athlete and named him the VII AAAA Player of the Year.
He was a member of the Yellow Jackets football team for four seasons, and he was a starter in each of those years. To go along with his MVP honors at the National Underclassmen Ultimate 100 in his junior year, he was a member of a region championship-winning wide receivers squad.
With 1,500 passing yards and 1,300 rushing yards as a senior, he was named the Cobb County Touchdown Club Quarterback of the Year for 2009.
