James Bettcher Career History As A Coach
Bettcher was hired by the NFL’s Indianapolis Colts after coaching at multiple universities. He served as an assistant coach under Bruce Arians while Arians was the interim head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
Bettcher accompanied Arians to Arizona when he was hired as head coach by the Cardinals. Bettcher was promoted to replace Todd Bowles, who left to become head coach of the New York Jets.
Bettcher was hired by the New York Giants as defensive coordinator under head coach Pat Shurmur on January 23, 2018. Betcher was not retained by new Giants head coach Joe Judge for the 2020 season, with Patrick Graham hired in his place.
