Pitcher began his coaching career in 2012, coaching wide receivers at Cortland State, a state university in New York.
He was Cortland State’s starting quarterback from 2009 to 2011, and as a senior, he was a finalist for the coveted Gagliardi Trophy, which is given to the best Division III football player each year.
Pitcher was a member of a football team that finished the regular season with a 41-23 (.641) record, three playoff appearances, two AFC South crowns, and a trip to the AFC Championship Game.
