The Miami Marlins are a major league baseball team headquartered in Miami, Florida. The Marlins are a member of the National League (NL) East division in Major League Baseball (MLB). LoanDepot Park is their home park.
The Florida Marlins were an expansion team that began play in the 1993 season. The Marlins used to play their home games at Joe Robbie Stadium, which they shared with the National Football League’s Miami Dolphins (NFL).
The team relocated to Marlins Park in 2012, their first permanent home and the first to be created specifically for baseball. Prior to the 2012 season, the organization changed its name to the Miami Marlins as part of an agreement with park owner Miami-Dade County to use the stadium.
