The Detroit Tigers are a professional baseball team based in Detroit, Michigan, United States. The Tigers are a part of the American League Central division in Major League Baseball.

The Detroit Tigers aren’t oblivious to their past. The names of Hall of Fame Tigers, as well as those whose numbers have been retired by the organization, are etched on the outfield walls of Comerica Park. A number of stunning statues representing great Tigers in action can be found on the outfield concourse. However, this is insufficient.

Alan Trammell and Jack Morris were only inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2018, and Trammell’s long-time double-play teammate Lou Whitaker is still mostly forgotten. Fans, including ourselves, have been calling for Whitaker’s No. 1 jersey to be retired for years.

Below is the Detroit Tigers Hall of Fame Register.

The squad, on the other hand, could perform better. It’s past time for the Tigers to construct their personal Hall of Fame on the grounds of Comerica Park. For a team with 118 years of history, four World Series championships, and some of baseball’s best players, it seems like a huge omission that there isn’t already a shrine dedicated to their accomplishments.

Cooperstown is home to 27 Tigers, ranging from Ty Cobb through Jack Morris. Only eight were inducted by the BBWAA in a general vote, with the remainder being decided by the Veterans or Old Timers committees.
