The Stanford University football player, Walters was a consensus All-American and was widely regarded as the best college wide receiver in the country during his time at the school.
He was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and he has previously played professionally for the Indianapolis Colts, Arizona Cardinals, and Detroit Lions of the National Football League.
Bloomington, Indiana is where Walters was born. Athletically, he excelled in football, basketball, and track and field when a student at Texas A&M Consolidated High School in College Station.
Walters was a member of the Stanford Cardinal football team from 1996 to 1999 after obtaining an athletic scholarship to attend Stanford University.
As a senior in 1999, he was named to the consensus first-team All-American team and was awarded the Fred Biletnikoff Award, which is given to the most outstanding receiver in college football regardless of position.
He concluded his college career with 244 receptions and more than 3,900 receiving yards, and he is presently the all-time leader in both receptions and receiving yards at Stanford University.
