Who Is Carroll Rosenbloom
Dale Carroll Rosenbloom was an American businessman who lived from March 5, 1907, until April 2, 1979. He owned two NFL teams: the Baltimore Colts and the Los Angeles Rams. He was the first owner of the Baltimore Colts and later switched teams, becoming the first owner of the Los Angeles Rams in 1972.
Rosenbloom accumulated the finest custodianship winning percentage in league history (.660), a cumulative regular-season record of 226 wins, 116 defeats, and 8 ties, as well as three NFL titles, under his management of both organizations.
Rosenbloom has been dubbed “the NFL’s first contemporary owner” as well as “the first player’s owner.” Rosenbloom was a member of the NFL innermost circle that arranged the league’s network TV contracts with NBC and CBS, as well as the NFL/AFL merger, which helped professional football become the most profitable and watched popular sport in the United States.
