Tyrus Raymond Cobb, also known as “The Georgia Peach,” was an outfielder in Major League Baseball for the United States. He was born in the Georgia town of Narrows. Cobb played 22 seasons for the Detroit Tigers, the final six as the team’s player-manager, before joining the Philadelphia Athletics.

Born on 18 December 1886 at Narrows, Georgia, United States. After some number of years, he died on July 17, 1961.

Cobb is accredited with establishing 90 MLB records during the course of his career. After correcting for home runs, his aggregate total of 4,065 runs scored and runs batted in remains the highest by any major league player.

As of the end of the 2019 season, he still holds many records, including the highest career batting average (.366) and the most career batting titles (11). (or 12, depending on the source)
