Poroshenko Petro Oleksiyovych was the president of Ukraine before Zelensky.
Poroshenko Petro Oleksiyovych (born September 26, 1965), is a Ukrainian businessman and politician who served as Ukraine’s fifth president from 2014 to 2019.
From 2009 to 2010, Poroshenko was the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and from 2012 to 2013, he was the Minister of Trade and Economic Development. Poroshenko was the head of the National Bank of Ukraine’s Council from 2007 to 2012.
He was elected president on May 25, 2014, with 54.7 percent of the vote in the first round, eliminating the need for a run-off. Poroshenko presided over the country during the first phase of the Russo-Ukrainian War, driving insurgent rebel forces deeper into the Donbas Region.
By signing the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement, he began the process of integration with the European Union.
