Eugene Melnyk (May 27, 1959 – March 28, 2022) was a Canadian businessman, who also doubles as the chairman of the National Hockey League (NHL)’s Ottawa Senators and AHL’s Belleville Senators.

He is said to have been the founder and CEO of  Biovail Corporation which happened to have been one of Canada’s largest pharmaceutical companies but he sold almost all of his holdings in 2010.

The medical publishing company Trimel Corporation was founded by Eugene in 1982 but was sold to Thomas publication in 1989.

Melnyk is the son of Ferdinand and Verna Melnyk, who were both born in Ukraine.
